About the FE HR Hub

How the FE HR Hub Helps You

In Further Education, your HR responsibilities go beyond providing a great service to staff, managers and your Leadership Team. You’re also accountable to your Board of Governors, learners, employers, partners and the community you serve.

The scope of your reach is huge; at times, very demanding; and it can sometimes feel quite lonely.

So, we formed the FE HR Hub – an inclusive HR community bringing together People Professionals working within FE across the UK. It’s accessible, supportive and inclusive. Whether you’re a team of one, an HR Director in need of a sounding board, or a specialist looking for broader support, come and join us.

    Nicola Perkins, Founder

I’m Nicola, founder of the FE HR Hub. I’ve been a friend, advocate and partner of the FE sector for over 20 years.

I’ve witnessed first-hand the isolation and burn-out People professionals can experience when working in FE. I understand the challenges of trying to deliver a culture and people services where excellence is expected, but constrained by tight budgets, competing priorities and large workloads.

While I can’t change those aspects of working in HR in FE, what I can do is help harness the power of bringing people together who are passionate about the sector and committed to doing their very best.

As well as provide a support structure to help you get things done faster, without re-inventing the wheel.
